Arabic is spoken by almost 400 millions people around the globe, but only 1-1.5% of content on the internet is in Arabic. We are always looking for new ways to bridge content gaps, increase awareness of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects through partnerships with governments, tech companies, nonprofits, and other key stakeholders around the world. We are exploring ways to expand Wikipedia’s reach, grow participation (i.e. readership and editors), and ensure we support our thriving Arabic Wikimedia communities.

In pursuit of a more equitable, inclusive, and better tomorrow for MENA - Come join me for an hour filled with information about the partnerships team at WMF, learn more about the current partnerships opportunities in the MENA region, explore new ideas and initiatives to increase Arabic content, and hear from our partners themselves about their learning experiences and challenges.

Time needed: 60 min

Session breakdown: 5 min intro, 10 information sharing using slides, 30 min panel conversation with 1-2 partners (TBD), 15 min Q&A and open discussion.
